This project was done over 4 seasons, it was understood that the yacht would be ready to sail each summer and the project would continue through the next fall and winter season. The call came in for this project while Lorraine and I where on our honeymoon on the outer banks of North Carolina and when I got back to the city I had a meeting with the owner and discussed the project. The boat was moored in the city at the time and the owner became a member at Port Credit Yacht Club so the boat would be close to my shop which is only a mile away from the yacht club.
Here is a list of projects completed.
This yacht now is racing offshore out of Halifax, NS and just won the Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race 2015
"Several years ago Richard performed a multitude of jobs aboard “Saraphie”, my Whitby 42’ ketch. Everything was managed with care and enthusiasm, from the smaller routine maintenance tasks such as refinishing varnish, to the ingenious way that Richard found to neatly install larger projects, including a fresh water maker, a 5KW diesel generator and a bow thruster, without compromising the traditional lines and interior harmony of the yacht. Saraphie subsequently sailed the Saint Lawrence from Toronto to the Atlantic Provinces where she now continues a successful second salt water career."
